On our planet, natural structures seem to repeat on different scales, under the influence of gravity. Sometimes they are the result of a process of sedimentation, while other times they are due to chemical, biological or other kinds of rearrangement. In this piece, I have reproduced, in silicone, a layered form: it looks like a vast geological structure, but also a microscopic bacterium, growing in layers. In nature, there are countless examples of figures that, although on different scales, tend towards the same type of structural equilibrium.
