Medida, unidad, incertidumbre

2013 / Series of photographic compositions / 70 × 50 cm each

To measure something accurately, you must give a numerical value, state the unit being used, and calculate the margin of error. In this series of images, the inevitable mistakes that we make when measuring something is shown visually. I took four photographs of standardised objects, and, after blowing them up to the original size of the object, I tried to recompose the image thereof. The gaps, which arise from having to rotate and separate the photos in order to conserve the shape of the photographed objects, represent the errors inherent to all acts of measurement.
