Dendrochronological Drawings

2012 / Rolled drawings and clamp / 37 × 16 × 16 cm

Dendrochronology is the science of studying trees’ growth rings to ascertain, by looking at the events recorded by them, how they have evolved over time. In this piece, which compares the accumulation of knowledge acquired in the official education system with slow-growing circular structures like tree-rings, I rolled up all the drawings I made during my undergraduate degree in Fine Arts and cut them into slices. Later, I gradually installed these medallions wherever I would exhibit as an artist.
