Continuum

According to the latest theories, space is discontinuous. In turn, this goes against the previous theories that understood space as fluid and homogenous. For this piece, based on these two contradictory descriptions, and reinterpreting Greek philosopher Proclus’ assertion that “space is nothing other than the finest light”, I have constructed the word “continuum”: it references the more recent theory about space by means of numerous distinct layers that hint at its discontinuity. As quantum physics has shown, light behaves like a wave and a particle at the same time, and the observer has been found to influence, fundamentally, the observed phenomenon.
